The holiday season calls for wines that feel special — bottles that elevate a dinner, light up a gathering, or make a quiet night at home instantly festive. This month, we’re taking you on a journey through Italy with six stunning selections that showcase the country’s diversity, craftsmanship, and terroir-driven magic.
Even better? These bottles are nearly impossible to find in regular liquor stores and are exclusive to Ando’s Wine Club members. Consider this your insider pass to Italy’s most exciting small producers.
Let’s pour into it…
The Sparkling & Whites: Bright, Festive, and Holiday-Ready

Nerello Mascalese Brut IGT
A Sicilian sparkler that instantly puts a smile on your face. This “blanc de noirs” take on Etna’s noble red grape shows off lemon blossoms, zippy acidity, and a bold, almost architectural palate of lemon curd. Winemaker Rosario Madaudo is beloved locally for his line of bubblies served at Palaverve, the family’s sparkling wine bar — and now you get to taste why.
Perfect for: greeting guests, pairing with seafood, or starting any evening on a high note.
Tenuta del Cavaliere Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC Classico Superiore
Small-production Verdicchio at its finest. Winemaker Maurizio Marchetti lets these old vines hang an extra month for depth and richness while keeping that signature Italian acidity. Expect pear, melon, honeyed notes, and elegant layers from first sip to last.
Perfect for: elegant dinners, creamy dishes, and the white-wine lover who wants something special.
Barone di Bernaj Inzolia Terre Siciliane IGT
A bright, coastal expression of the ancient Inzolia grape — crisp, citrusy, lightly almondy, and kissed with salinity. Forget the old Marsala stereotypes: this modern style is refreshing, clean, and endlessly food-friendly.
Perfect for: light apps, holiday grazing boards, and anyone who swears they “only drink Sauvignon Blanc.”
The Reds: Warm, Vibrant & Made for Holiday Tables

Barone di Bernaj Frappato Terre Siciliane IGT
Fresh, juicy, and full of cherry, balsamic, and black pepper. This Frappato is grown in volcanic soil near Etna and shines when served with a slight chill.
Perfect for: charcuterie, bruschetta, and red-wine lovers who like something lively and refreshing.
Barone di Bernaj Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG
Sicily’s only DOCG delivers once again. A blend of Nero d’Avola and Frappato, this wine balances dark fruit with aromatic lift. A touch of French oak gives polish without weighing it down.
Perfect for: Mediterranean dishes, pasta with red sauce, and festive gatherings with lots of flavors on the table.
Barone di Bernaj Nerello Mascalese Terre Siciliane IGT
For those who love earth, structure, and volcanic character — this unoaked Nerello Mascalese is your new favorite. Flavors of smoke, ash, dark plum, and cherry make it a grill lover’s dream.
Perfect for: steak, lamb, roasted mushrooms, and smoky winter comfort food.
In Short: This Month Is a Celebration of Craft & Character
Bold reds, bright whites, festive bubbles — all deeply expressive of Italy’s regions and impossible to stumble upon at your local shop (except ours!). These wines are rare, handcrafted, and chosen specifically to make your holiday season more delicious.
Cheers to another month of great wine, great stories, and great members.
Salute! 🍷✨
