If there’s one snack that always disappears first at a holiday gathering, it’s these sausage rolls. Warm, flaky, savory with just a hint of sweetness — Kayla’s Holiday Sausage Rolls are the definition of crowd‑pleasing comfort food. They’re easy to make, easy to eat, and perfect alongside a glass (or cocktail) in hand.
These became a standout favorite at our Holiday Cocktail Lab, and once you make them, you’ll understand why.

Ingredients (Makes about 12 rolls)
1 lb mild Italian sausage
1–2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (to taste)
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup pepper jelly (plus more for serving, if desired)
2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
That’s it — simple ingredients, big holiday payoff.
How to Make Kayla’s Holiday Sausage Rolls
Prep the sausage filling - In a bowl, mix the Italian sausage with 1–2 tablespoons Dijon mustard until just combined. Set aside.
Prepare the puff pastry - Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into 6 equal rectangles (you’ll have 12 total).
Spread the cream cheese & jelly - Spread a thin, even layer of softened cream cheese over each rectangle, leaving a small border around the edges. Spoon a small amount of pepper jelly over the cream cheese and gently spread.
Fill - Divide the sausage mixture evenly between the 12 pastry pieces, forming a short log in the center of each.
Fold & seal - Fold the pastry over the filling to fully enclose it. Press the edges to seal, using a fork if desired. Place seam side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake - Bake at 400°F for 22–26 minutes, until puffed, golden brown, and cooked through.
Serve warm - Let cool slightly, then serve warm for maximum flake and flavor.
Make‑Ahead & Hosting Tips
